What is the health impact of vitamin deficiencies?
We are all aware of the important role vitamins and minerals play in our body. What is vitamin deficiency and how to deal with it?
Vitamin deficiency is either caused by under-supply of vitamins in food or by disturbances in the absorption of a given vitamin in our digestive tract. The reason for the deficiency may also be an increased need for certain vitamins during the illness.
The lack of every vitamin in our body is manifested by clinical symptoms. Each vitamin is responsible for what is different in the body, or has a synergistic effect with another one, so the symptoms of lack of vitamins similarly differ from each other depending on the lack of a given vitamin.
Complete lack of vitamin deficiency in the body is called avitaminosis and its partial deficiency is called hypovitaminosis. Nowadays, avitaminosis is rarely encountered, however, hypovitaminosis is already a common phenomenon.

So let it be vitamin C (probably the most known to the public). The need for vitamin C in infants is from 5-6 mg per day per 1 kg of body weight, however, with age the burial rate decreases not significantly. Vitamin C – its demand increases during illness, elevated temperature, pregnancy and breastfeeding.
It is easy to count, we already know that an adult person should provide at least 100mg of vitamin C, with a healthy lifestyle. In terms of stress, environmental factors, smoking and other substances affecting our health, we know that the daily intake of vitamin C should be much higher than recommended. Vitamin C deficiency will cause scurvy or septicaemia.
Prevention of vitamin deficiency:
An adequate diet is the key to success – the key to health. It should look like a diet rich in fresh fruit and vegetables. Not everyone, however, is able to eat properly every day. Work, children and other duties are unfortunately increasingly affecting our diet. This is why natural dietary supplements, which replace deficiencies, play an important role.
